Students will be released at 11:30 Friday, 29 September Grade 3 hosts Assembly - 8:45-9:45 Tuesday, 3 October, & Wednesday, 4 October Three-way Conferences with Parents, Teachers, and Students No supervision for students. Students only on campus with parents for conferences. This week we continued to practice our routines, get to know each other during our morning meetings, and learn about the different systems around us. We're also practicing a growth mindset by being 'problem solvers' instead of 'problem performers'. Problem solvers think deeply about the problem, make meaningful plans, learn from peers, and reflect on their actions. Problem performers act quickly, without being able to explain their thinking, and believe some problems are unsolvable. In reading, we reflected on how we sometimes 'fake read'. Sometimes we read without thinking. We discussed how reflecting on our reading and taking time to read the pictures and make connections to the text help us to be good readers. On Wednesday, Ms. Hamlin came to visit us. We learned the Positive Ball game. We're a community and we learned that we can make connections by being open-minded communicators. Ms. B came in on Thursday to help us think about our thinking. We need to be reflective to think about what we need to learn best. Sometimes we need to be in groups, sometimes alone, or maybe we need a focus seat or fidget to help us focus. We also continued our Number Talks, to think creatively about numbers, and our discussion on different systems that support us. We discussed ASW and the many parts that help our school function. Happy Friday!!!
