This week.... From David: The best part of the week was UN Day because I got lots of candy from different tables. I also learned that Mexico has really good food. From Marcelo: We learned a song about symmetry. There are three different kinds of symmetry - bilateral, rotational, and slide. We talked about how fractions and symmetry are similar. In PE we learned how to dance. In Art, me, Denis, and David made cuties! From Milosz: My favorite part of UN Day was when I went to the Japanese table because there was different origami shapes there, like paper airplanes. From Lucja: We had lots of interesting presentations this week. I will remember Mia's presentation about Abu Dhabi. I learned what it's like to live in a hot country. Today we went to the pumpkin patch. The best part was picking our pumpkins. From Oliwia: UN Day was great! We ate a lot of candy. Today, we went to the pumpkin patch. I really like my pumpkin. This week in 3D: From Yeonwoo: Today we did a Color Symbol Image (CSI). I was happy about it because I'm excited to share my drawing the things that describe me. In quiet time, I finished my mandala. It looks really cool. It makes people dizzy. I am really proud of it! From Milosz: This week we did some very cool writing. It was cool because it increased the class' stamina for writing. From Lucja: We did Geometry and talked about different shapes. Today we talked about angles and made a Triangle Star. On Wednesday, we made a post of our favorite shapes and used different languages to label them. From Denis: I liked our Triangle Star because it was fun. This week I wrote 10 pages for my personal narrative. I am really proud of it. In Music, we learned about Chopin. He is really amazing! From Star: We started our new unit and explored symbols and shapes. We got lots of compliments from other teachers and now we have 9 points! The best compliment I ever had was when one teacher said we were great writers. We were quiet and focused! Happy Friday!!!!  Updates: UN Day on Thursday, 19 October - 3D will have a class luncheon. We invite families to share a dish from their culture. Field trip to Farma Dyn Pumpkin Farm on Friday, 20 October. A letter was sent home with students on Thursday. Thank you to everyone for such wonderful conferences!! We have some reflective, creative, and motivated students! Student Reflections: From Lucja: On Thursday, we started our End of the Unit project about different systems. On Friday, Ms. Mackenty came to us and taught us how to be a word collector. From Denis: On Monday, we were getting ready for our conferences. We did our reflections about how we feel about ourselves. From Jan: On Tuesday and Wednesday we had 3-Way Conferences. We were presenting our goals to our parents and we were the teachers. We showed our blob tree. From David: We learned how to be words collectors and we tried to collect words and we did it. We found words that we did not know, and then we followed the instructions to figure out what that mean. Happy Friday!!!  |
