This week we continued with our measurement and explored the difference between weight and mass as well as the different units of measurement. Using hands-on practice we used our estimation skills to evaluate small items and then checked our estimation with our scales. As we continued our exploration of different types of energy, we took a field trip to the high school Chemistry lab to visit Ms. Nickie. She showed us different equipment to use to explore the different ways which light is reflected and refracted. In writing we continuing our informational writing as we finalize and publish our pieces. Our reading groups are honing their inference skills as well as predicting what will happen in the story. Ms. Sheehan joined us on Thursday to guide us through the many ways to organize our information in our Google Drives as well as Google Docs. We used the files and documents we created to document our paraphrasing skills as we explored the PowerKnowledge Physical Science website. http://www.pkphysicalscience.com/ Also on Thursday we visited our Reading Buddies and continued our work with our own Travelling Tales story and practiced using the 5-part Story Mountain. We’re looking forward to our next time creating a story with other students around the world. Happy Friday!!
