Week 15 - Dec. 5-9

We have the most warm and festive classroom!  Thanks to all for the donations and for the time our room parents put into it!  It really is like opening a present each time you open the door.  

Our part of the Traveling Tales is complete!  With the slight setback because of the school closure, we switch from the 2nd to the 3rd section of the 5-part Story Mountain.  We expect the final sections to be complete next week and we will view the final product during our class party on Thursday, December 15th.

Travelling is the preferred spelling in British English. Traveling is the preferred spelling in American English. Whether you're talking about travelled or traveled or traveller or traveler, these same preferences still apply.

The Hour of Code has begun!
​Our goal is 120 minutes for each student over the 10 day challenge and some students are already over their target goal.  

​We continued our Elapsed Time practice with a word problem hunt around around the classroom.  

​Ms. Brewster came in to help us with our non-fiction writing.  We've picked our research topics and are creating our Table of Contents with the main details of our writing.  Next week we will continue our research and writing our paragraphs with details to support our main ideas.  

​We helped our Reading Buddies in 1M prepare for their assembly next Friday.  We gave lots of supportive comments!

Reminders: 

- Our class party will be on Thursday, December 15th with set up at 11:30.

- Each student has selected a student for a Secret Santa Gift Exchange.  Gifts should be wrapped with therrecipient name on it with a cost of no more than 40pln.  Students can bring the presents in earlier than Thursday if they wish.
